A sturdy tool for putting the final edge on your knife after sharpening, this stropping board is made of 3/4" red oak that is about 16" long and 2-1/2" wide. The handle portion is about 5" long to give you a good grip on the board if not using it lying on a flat surface. One side of the board is covered with a heavy strip of vegetable-tanned leather with the coarse "flesh" side facing out for initial stropping, and the other side of the board is mounted with a similar piece of leather with the smooth side facing out for final polishing. The handle comes with a hole and leather lanyard to make it easy to hang the board up. The exposed parts of the oak board are sealed with polyurethane for a glossy finish that will protect it from moisture.
Please note that I make the stropping boards to order, so allow one week after ordering before the product will be shipped.
